Quotes due on Tue, May 17th by Noon CST. This combined synopsis/solicitation is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ) IAW FAR Part 13. The Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC/PZIMC) at Tinker Air Force Base Oklahoma, intends to award one firm fixed price contract for the acquisition of a 2750 Compliant Plating Oven. Class 2 oven compliant with AMS 2750F with the following requirements: Physical Requirements: • Minimum Internal furnace size: 84” wide, 40” deep, 72” high • Maximum External footprint: ~100” wide, 72” deep, and 96” high • Rack layout: 3 removable racks, the lowest one elevated 6” from the bottom, preferably comprised of rollers rated to hold 100 lbs minimum, a middle one sitting at least 24” above that (30” total), and the top rack sitting at least 30” above that (60” total) • Rack weight rating: bottom rack rated for at least 1000 lb gross load, middle and top rack rated for at least 20 lbs per square foot • Loading doors: 2 doors, bi-parting that open independently of one another, any mullion present must be removable • Control cabinet must be accessible within allotted space for furnace, with at least 30” clearance for any electrical door to open Temperature requirements: • Temperature Range: 250-500F • AMS 2750F Class 2 (temperature uniformity +/- 10F, maximum SAT difference +/- 3F) Heating: • Zero-Fired SCR power control • Heat Input Capacity enough to heat a 1,000 lb steel load from 70° F to 475° F in 1 hour when loaded in to a preheated oven • Direct drive blowers for recirculation Controls: • Electrical: 480/3/60 power supply • Low voltage calibration connections to controller, over temp, and chart recorder • Low voltage calibration connections shall be located on the exterior of the control panel to allow calibration technicians to perform calibration without needing to access high voltage panels. Instrumentation: • AMS 2750F compliant type D instrumentation including chart recorder, temperature controller, and over-temperature controller/protection Thermocouples: • All thermocouples, thermocouple extension wire, and connectors shall meet all technical requirements as detailed by AMS 2750F section 3.1. • Any and all connectors shall be of standard 2 pin connector type. • Control thermocouple: Any base metal type excluding type N; preference towards type K, J • 1 control thermocouple required per oven control zone • 1 resident SAT thermocouple required per control zone, permanently installed to comply with AMS 2750F, type N SAT probe required. Resident SAT thermocouple shall connect to jack panel connector on furnace control cabinet. • Nine temperature uniformity survey (TUS) ports shall be installed on the oven. The ports shall be positioned to allow TUS thermocouples to be placed in accordance with AMS 2750F Figure 1. Testing: • Manufacturer shall perform System Accuracy Test (SAT) before shipment. SAT procedure and results shall comply with AMS 2750F Class 2 requirements and are subject to Tinker Technical POC approval before shipment. • Manufacturer shall perform Temperature Uniformity Survey (TUS) before shipment. TUS procedure and results shall comply with AMS 2750F Class 2 requirements and are subject to Tinker Technical POC approval before shipment. Installation/Training: • Turn-key installation shall be provided • Tinker AFB must be notified no less than one week prior to shipment for site prep • Operational training, maintenance training, and programming training shall be provided to Tinker AFB shop, maintenance, and engineering personnel after installation. Miscellaneous • 1 year warranty • Manuals: 1 hardcopy, 1 digital Owner’s manual in English o Owner’s manual shall include operation instructions, maintenance instructions, and engineering drawings (heating elements, electrical wiring, mechanical design, etc.) with part numbers should replacement parts be needed. • Spare parts for 3 months service • Thermocouple calibration certificates for any and all thermocouples installed in the furnace, excluding extension wire.
