The USAF 448 SCMW supply system is often challenged by cost-prohibitive pricing, slow to respond sources of supply, or incomplete data packages for parts. These issues may delay the delivery of materiel and reduce the readiness of a weapon system. This initiative provides a contractual means to resolve supply chain deficiencies through technical and engineering services surrounding the acquisition and repair of parts. The primary goals of this initiative are to increase competition, reduce overpricing, reduce customer lead times, reduce back-ordered requisitions, and eliminate manufacturing sourcing issues as fast as possible to complement already existing contracting options.
