This 4-month extension at an estimated amount of $2.4M (Government estimate based on existing task order's project execution rates) will facilitate the support of the projects outlined below in order to avoid degradation of the Navy Continuous Training Environment's (NCTE's) ability to enhance and integrate additional advanced cybersecurity-embedded Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) weapon system training capabilities for real-world training and operational systems. The contractor's support during the exercises identified below will provide the data collection required for subsequent requirements refinement and solution development for integration and development of LVC models and simulations. These exercise outputs and the completion of the remaining four development and prototyping projects directly support LVC training which is a critical component of the U.S. Navy's strategic direction as identified by U.S. Navy Admiral M.M. Gilday's Fragmentary Order (FRAGO) issued in 2019. The services provided under this extension are performance-based and fall within the Survivability/Vulnerability, Autonomous Systems, Readiness, Maintainability, Quality, Supportability, and Interoperability (RMQSI), and Weapons Systems technical focus areas and scope of the DS MAC. In accordance with Section H.1.e. of the basic DS MAC, a task order may include a base and optional periods of performance not to exceed a total of 60 months in Duration or more than 36 months beyond the end of the contract's final ordering period. The ordering period of the DS MAC was five years, from 23 June 2014 through 22 June 2019, which would make the last date for task order performance 21 June 2022, the date that this order expires. This justification seeks to extend performance for this specific order beyond that date by four months through 21 October 2022.
