This is a Request for Information (RFI) seeking feedback from any interested parties with regard to a proposed brand-name Class Justification and Approval (J&A) for standardization of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) chiller brands at the installation level (i.e., Air Force Base). 772 ESS/PKD, at Tyndall Air Force Base, plans to allow each USAF installation within and Outside the Contiguous United Status to select, based on its existing inventory, a standard brand of chiller when new/replacement chillers are required. USAF installations intend to continue to obtain new/replacement chillers from local dealers and distributors that supply the standard brands. The current brand-name HVAC Chiller Class J&A was originally approved in August 2019 for five years. The USAF intends to renew the J&A for another five years (FY25 through FY29) in support of standardization of its HVAC chiller inventory through natural attrition. The new Class J&A will support various installation-level contracts for new/replacement chillers. We ask that you respond to this RFI so we may better understand how the planned J&A may impact industry.
