Answer A terrestrial LiDAR Total Station Unit will be acceptable/considered if the unit meets the specified accuracy requirements (Survey Grade 2–cm). A mobile mapping solution could be considered if the unit meets the specified accuracy requirements (Survey Grade 2–cm). *** The United States Air Force (USAF), is looking to replace aging, commercially-off-the-shelf (COTS) survey and mapping equipment [Total Station, Global Navigation Satellite System/Global PositioningSystem (GNSS/GPS), Machine Control] with similar, but more modernized, COTS solutions specifically designed for construction and geodetic/mapping purposes. Remote-sensing technologies aimed at producing a high return on investment and improve the efficiency and practices of infrastructure development, planning, construction, and managing the natural environment are preferable.
