AFTAC is looking to procure a Scanning Electron Microscope Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) detector that can be installed on a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The EDS instrument must be compatible and installed on a FEI Quanta 450 SEM with a tungsten filament electron source. Detector capabilities must perform elemental analysis from Boron to Curium. Detector size must be at least 60 mm. The detector must be able to perform line scans and mapping. Installation must be performed by a manufacture qualified individual. Initial training on the operation of the detector must be supplied during installation. The equipment must not have WIFI. It must be operational with no Internet connection, and it must have an initial one-year warranty.
