T... This is a sole source requirement for 96 Jr Executive Desks that are currently being leased and used in the local hotels that the USAFA Cadets are housed at due to COVID-19. The sole source is CORT. The items are not currently on CORTs GSA Schedule and therefore a purchase order was completed for the requirement. In Aug of 2020, when the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Cadets were displaced due to COVID-19 and housed in local hotels, it was necessary to obtain additional furnishings to be located in the hotels. This furnishings included desks, chairs, and dressers. t furniture was leased and paid for with the users Government Purchase Card. The user performed market research when they signed the rental agreement. Due to the continued surge in cases of COVID 19 and the need to provide distance between cadets, the Cadet Wing is preparing a site on base to house up to 96 Cadets. The site will need small desks so that the Cadets can have a study area, as if they were in their dorm rooms. The location that the Cadets will be housed at is FERL. The accommodations that are currently in place are primitive and do not have any furniture other than a bed. The desks will need to be installed in time for the return of the Cadets, currently scheduled for 1 Jan 2021.
