The United States Air Force (USAF) has a sole source requirement to procure VIPER Kits from the only company that manufactures the equipment in order to enable "hot pit" refueling capabilities with NATO partner aircraft. This will be a new contract action for a firm fixed priced contract. Griswold Industries, doing business as "Cla-Val", is currently the only manufacturer of the VIPER Kit. Additionally, their equipment is the only model approved for use on USAF aircraft. Until the USAF approves other manufacturers or part numbers, no other sources can meet the needs of the Government.
