GENERAL INFORMATION Background: The 48th Contracting Squadron (48 CONS) at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, United Kingdom, is issuing this sources sought/RFI announcement, FA558723ROutsidePlant, for work at RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk; RAF Feltwell, Norfolk; RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk; RAF Alconbury, Cambridgeshire; RAF Molesworth, Cambridgeshire; RAF Croughton, Northamptonshire; RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire; RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire; RAF Welford, Berkshires; and any location within the UK where there is a US Air Force presence. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 517810, All Other Telecommunications. No award will be made from this sources sought announcement. No solicitation is available at this time. All responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for the future requirement. The 48th Contracting Squadron is conducting market research to identify potential sources that have the ability to meet the requirement in Attachment 1 – Draft Performance Work Statement. The 48th Contracting Squadron seeks feedback from companies/entities capable of providing IT Infrastructure - Outside Plant Services. Interested parties must provide rationale as to why they should be considered capable. Description: The Communications Squadron’s at RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk; RAF Feltwell, Norfolk; RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk; RAF Alconbury, Cambridgeshire; RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire; RAF Welford, Berkshire and RAF Croughton, Brackley; RAF Molesworth, Cambridgeshire; RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire have a requirement for IT Infrastructure - Outside Plant Services. The contractor shall engineer, furnish, install, test, and repair (EFIT&R) United States Air Force (USAF) owned exterior direct buried or ducted communications cables and tubing (e.g. microducts), and EFIT&R USAF owned (and ‘Other’ owned where agreement exists) buried manhole and ducting systems to include facility entry/exit ducting, tubing and enclosed cables. Work to include both internal and external jointing and final cable terminations either at an internal facility demarcation point (demarc) or equipment end-point if applicable. Fiber optic cables to be in options of blown or drawn fiber with various multiple strand options for both multi-mode and single-mode. Copper cabling to include coaxial and multi-pair telephone cabling (direct buried and ducted). All Sources Sought/RFI responses will be used in whole or in part for determining the most effective acquisition strategy for future IT Infrastructure - Outside Plant Services acquisitions or similar requirements.
