This requirement addresses the need for non-personal, non-severable services to complete the work that is required for the 48th Maintenance Group (48 MXG) to receive and sustain an Authority to Operate (ATO) for its Snap-On Level 5 Automated Tool Control boxes. This contract will have a base period of six months, with two six-month option periods. If these toolboxes get connected to the AF Network, then 48 MXG personnel will be able to virtually check these Snap-On Level 5 Automated Tool Control boxes in and out, without needing to remove the toolbox from a protective aircraft shelter. It is estimated that this initiative will return at least an hour per day to each maintainer, who must otherwise check a toolbox in and out. If the pilot program that results from this ATO is successful, then this capability will be considered for use as an enterprise-level solution.
