The Government is conducting market research to determine the customary commercial practice for the requirement of Transportation of Government Furnishings. Caution: This Sources Sought is issued solely for information and planning purposes. In accordance with Part 10 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, the U.S. Government is conducting market research. The intended purpose is to determine the customary commercial practice for the requirement of Transportation of Government Furnishings. It does not constitute a Request for Quotation (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. This Sources Sought should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose other than to gain the information requested for market research. The Government is not at this time seeking quotations and will not accept unsolicited quotations. Respondees are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this Sources Sought. Not responding to this Sources Sought does not preclude participation in any potential future RFQ. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Contract Opportunities website (sam.gov). It is the responsibility of potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement. Instructions: 1. Attached document contains questionnaires to determine the customary commercial practice for Transportation of Government Furnishings. The results of this research will not only help us determine if the services are commercial in nature, but also if the services offered in the marketplace will meet our agency requirements. 2. Description of Requirement: The requirement involves providing all personnel, vehicles, equipment, tools, supervision, and other items and services necessary to accomplish intra-island transportation of Government owned furnishings and appliances for accompanied and unaccompanied members in Okinawa, Japan. The contractor must be authorized to work in Japan.
