This is a Justification and Approval of proposed modification to extend the current option period by six (6) months for Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Architect Engineer Contracts FA520917D0004 thru 0008. These contracts were awarded on 15 Nov 2016 (Base Year plus 4 options) with the maximum ceiling amount of $20,000,000.00. The period of performance under the subject contract will be extended to 14 May 2022. FAR clause 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services was not included in the contracts in accordance with FAR 17.208(f), which states to insert the clause in solicitations and contracts for services when the inclusion of an option is appropriate. Since the AE is unique and follows FAR 36 Construction with the natures of both services and construction, the determination was not to include FAR 52.217-8 in the solicitation. However, a 6-month extension is currently required to execute all ready to award and other projects received under FY21 Combined Tasking Orders.
