[Added to Description on 19 Feb 20020] The purpose of this Market Research is to define the Japanese commercial practice whether it meets U.S. Government trucking requirements on acquisition of Transportation of Tactical Vehicles and Other Freight for Camp Fuji in Japan. Please answer the attached questions with reasoning, an alternate plan, and the description of services as requested. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUATATION OR AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF A SOLICITAION. This is to identify sources that can perform Transportation of Tactical Vehicles and Other Freight for Camp Fuji. Firms that are interested should respond to Mr. Yuma Kato via email at yuma.kato.jp@us.af.mil by 28 Feb 2020 including the following: (1) name and address of firm; (2) a point of contact with name, title, phone, fax, and email; and (3) CAGE (NCAGE) code and DUNS number (if available). DESCRIPTION: The Contractor shall transport general, dangerous, hazardous, sensitive, and oversized freight by Contractor’s vehicles and provide loading/unloading services by providing forklifts and/or truck-mounted cranes with operators as ordered by the designated Ordering Officer(s) of U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in accordance with the terms and conditions of this requirement and applicable Japanese laws and trade practices, as well as by compliance with Department of Defense requirements for safe transportation of ammunition and explosives. TYPE OF FREIGHT: Movable property that the Government requires to be transported pursuant to this contract, as further defined in the draft Performance Work Statement (PWS), paragraph 1.2. Tactical vehicles typically falls into categories of general freight and oversized freight. AREA OF PERFORMANCE: The areas of performance shall include routes between Camp Fuji in Chubu Area and any installations throughout the Honshu and Kyushu to meet transportation requirements as specified in the draft PWS. The point-to-point routes are specified in the Pricing Schedule (Draft Exhibit). EXPECTED PERFORMANCE PERIOD: Five (5) one-year Ordering Periods (01 Dec 2020 through 30 Nov 2025) (Subject to change) ESTIMATED QUANTITY: See draft Exhibit. NOTE: THIS PROJECT WILL BE PERFORMED IN ITS ENTIRETY IN THE COUNTRY OF JAPAN. THE SUCCESSFUL OFFEROR MUST BE LICENSED AND REGISTERED TO PERFORM THE SERVICE IN THE COUNTRY OF JAPAN.
