Eielson AFB and the Det460/Transmitter monitoring area has approximately 20 miles of power line, right of ways, that require to be hydro axed to prevent trees from coming into contact with the high voltage overhead power lines and to keep power line right of ways clear for maintenance purposes. These right of ways need to be hydro axed to an overall width of 40ft, 20ft on each side of the pole line. The main area is Feeder 10 from the Y at Arctic Avenue, all lateral lines coming off the main line, and extending to each Det460 monitoring station. This is approximately 15 miles of lines. There are about 5 miles of the other feeders intermixed at different areas of the base, including the Ski Hill area that also require hydro axing. Overall acreage is approximately 100 acres. There will be a site visit held on wednesday 30 June 2021 at the location of performance.
