This NOTICE OF A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AWARD is being published in accordance with (IAW) Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 16.505(b)(2)(i)(C) – The order must be issued on a sole-source basis in the interest of economy and efficiency because it is a logical follow-on to an order already issued under the contract, provided that all awardees were given a fair opportunity to be considered for the original order. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 517311 and the Business Size Standard is 1,500 employees. The Acquisition Management and Integration Center, 300 Exploration Way, Hampton, Virginia, 23666 awarded a sole source contract to acquire the services necessary to provide support for the Cybersecurity Support Services requirement. The contractor shall provide resources and expertise to protect and defend AFCENT and CENTCOM command, control, communications, computer and intelligence (C4I) resources against cyber vulnerabilities/threats for 9AF AFCENT at Shaw AFB, SC. The Government awarded a Firm-Fixed Price sole source bridge contract: FA489022F0017to Applied Insight, LLC, 19980 Highland Vista Dr., Ashburn, VA, 20147. This task order will serve as a bridge to provide Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization support services for information systems and networks within the AFCENT Authorizing Official boundary until a new contract is in place. The required period of performance is from 23 January 2022 – 22 January 2023 (12-month base period). No other contractor has the existing capability in place to continue providing the required services under this contract due to the potentially long transition period on the front and back end of a 12-month performance period.
