The purpose of this requirement is to replace 1 existing boiler in Bldg 1435 with the same make and model boiler, Lochinvar (KBX0800N). Replacing the Lochinvar water heaters with the same model will remove the need for re-plumbing any of the supply and return lines, no need of re-wiring any of the electrical lines or thermostat wires and the vent stacks will fit perfectly with out any re-piping of the venting stacks saving the government time and money on changing the current system in order to work with a different brand of boilers.
