Tyndall AFB is seeking qualified sources to fulfill a need to procure 40 EA Fluid Coupling Assembly components, P/N: 52-D-6012-2, NSN: 3010-01-283-5734. This item is a critical safety item (CSI) used to support the BAK-12 Arresting Absorber System and Mobile Aircraft Arresting System (MAAS) whose sole mission is to stop tail hook equipped fighter aircraft on aborted takeoff (engine failure) or when declaring a flight emergency requiring the aircraft to engage the runway barrier to prevent potential damage to the airframe and/or loss of aircrew. The Fluid Coupling Assembly transmits torque from the rewind engine to the rewind gear box during the rewind operation of the BAK-12 absorber to pre-tension the barrier cable in the battle positon (ready) for aircraft engagement. This requirement is for the procurement of parts and equipment for MAAS repair, replacement, and fielding on a global scale. The contractor shall furnish all required parts, equipment, material, and labor to provide the following items in accordance with (IAW) all applicable codes, specifications, and industry/federal standards to the requiring agency at Tyndall AFB, Florida. Any company/product provider that is chosen needs to be First Article Testing (FAT) approved. Interested vendors are requested to provide a capabilities statement, product literature, or specification sheet(s) that demonstrates their company can meet the minimum specifications identified in the attached Statement of Work dated 21 January 2022.
