Corrosion and Paint Booth Repair for 49 MXG; used to ensure aircraft is free from corrosion and maintains freshly painted exteriors. This is a Single Source requirement and Justification for the repair of one Corrosion Control Booth for 49 MXG on Holloman Air Force Base, for the the only working booth on Holloman. Presently, the repair equipment must be purchased from Morehead Industrial Services Inc., as they are the sole manufacturer, per FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). Additionally, the control software is proprietary to them and any changes to it or their equipment must be done through them. Due to the current proprietary nature of the booth, another manufacturer cannot simply repair it. It would also require re-certifting the safety of the software and controls of the booth and retrofitting it, for another company to fulfill the requirement. This would also implicate additional costs and a significant increase in the down time of the booth.
