Knox Associates, Inc. provides a system with an exclusive key set specific to Ellsworth AFB contained inside the Knox Key Secure Boxes. The keys contained within Knox's Key Secure Boxes provide Fire & Emergency Services the ability to open every Knox Box across the installation and retrieve/replace keys to gain access to facilities during emergency events. Several Key Secure Knox Boxes are currently installed in 28CEF vehicles with keys programmed specifically for Ellsworth AFB 28CES/CEF. More than 60 Knox Boxes are already installed, therefore only Knox Boxes are acceptable to insure compatibility across installation. Knox does not have additional distributors. If another system was to be acquired, additional costs would be incurred to replace the existing system or multiple systems used which could delay response times into facilities.
