Saven (7) water supply wells with approximately 300 ft deep and 16” diameter casings, on the well fields area at Beale AFB (See in site plan) were protected from corrosion by an impressed current CP system, with a central anode bed/rectifier since 1971. the old system, was connected by the existing abandoned underground metal pipe that is used as a conductor to provide the CP current to wells 1,2,4,5, and 6). Wells 8 and 9 were connected through the overhead cable which is removed while the power distribution system was altered from overhead to underground. the existing abandoned UG water pipes to these two wells are made of asbestos cement, therefore; not used as a conductor to support CP. The transformer/rectifier of the old CP is also removed. Besides, the existing CP of the 5 wells is disconnected at some locations. Due to the presene of asbestos cement, an asbestos abatement plan, and/or an environmental plan may be required. This notice will also serve to satisfy synopsis requirement as outlined in FAR 5.204 If there are any reccomendations for more accurate NAICS or PSC codes please notify the CA/CO so that those concerns may be addressed in either future sources sought or the formal solictation. If there are any concerns about the Statement of Need or the accompanying supporting documentation, please notify the CA/CO so that those concerns may be addressed, and/or incorportated into those documents. Please include your companies CAGE code and UEI in initial correspondence.
