Construction Airfield Blast Shield
The project involves the fabrication and erection of new curved, non-perforated, galvanized, corrugated blast deflector fences for B1-B aircraft, with the Lynnco Type GS-20-2 as the standard or an approved alternate. The fence must withstand 30,000 lbs of afterburner thrust at 90 ft from the engine nozzle, with temperatures near 1400°F and velocities around 900 MPH, and work must comply with IBC, UFC, and other applicable codes. Performance is located in a restricted area on the flightline, accessed via the Tye Gate, with a specified haul route and a designated laydown yard that must be restored and maintained. Contractors must submit a two-week work schedule to the escort POC at least one week prior to starting, and all materials require submittals on AF Form 3000. This notice is for market research only, so no proposals are currently being accepted.
