THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ONLY Malmstrom AFB (MAFB) is conducting market research to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements to install lights in (29) U-Vans and remove, replace and install lights in (17) M-Vans at Malmstrom AFB, MT. The interior cargo lighting for the fleet of seventeen (17) M-Vans provides insufficient lighting for nighttime operations as well as increase the risk of said operations. The fleet of twenty-nine (29) U-Vans do not currently have interior cargo lighting installed. Current lights need to be replaced and/or upgraded and additional lights installed in the (29) U-Vans. Wiring may need to be installed or replaced in each M-Van or U-Van due to condition or lack thereof concerning the state of the wiring. The interior cargo lights are degraded or nonfunctional on the M-Vans. They require replacement and possibly new wiring. The current configuration requires drawing power from site, which in turn requires unrolling a heavy, cumbersome cable. If rewired to draw from the battery or some other source, the lighting will likely need to be replaced with new lighting with a smaller power draw. There is no lighting in the U-Vans, so lights and wiring will be required. The contractor must provide lighting and any equipment related, such as protective lenses. Lighting for the M-Van should be 24” unit mounted in the cargo area of each van located in the center of the ceiling, a compatible replacement to the existing lighting, or a light that fits to reconfigured wiring under proper power draw. The lighting unit in the U-Van (“Proto”) should be a small, 5-to-6-inch, low-profile dome or of similar profile and capability. Lighting units should be “low profile” in design so as not to impede the movement of heavy maintenance equipment into and/or out of the U-Van or M-Van.
