Whiteman has had RWIS contracts for the last seven years or more. The last two years were data hosting only as the in-ground system was upgraded. Prior to that, a Vaisala certified partner provided repair and maintenance services in addition to data hosting. FA462523C0001 was awarded to Haight Bey for two years for data hosting at $19,728.00 total contract value. FA462518C0004 was awarded to DBT Transportation Services LLC for a base year and four options totalling $118,013.40 to include data hosting, maintenance, and repair of the physical system. The Vaisala Runway Weather Information System (RWIS) was installed in September 2023 to monitor weather and runway surface conditions providing Pavements and Grounds personnel with vital data. Information provided by this system allows for the advanced and timely warning for application of chemicals and snow operations planning during inclement weather.
