PURPOSE: The purpose of the sources sought is to identify available authorized businesses to provide the required product or an “or equal” product. This sources sought notice is for informational and planning purposes only. Pricing information is not being requested at this time. It does not constitute a solicitation and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. REQUIREMENT: This notice is issued by the U.S. Air Force, 92d Contracting Squadron, Fairchild AFB, WA. This sources sought is seeking to identify responsible potential sources to provide twelve (12) sets of the Motorola APX 8000 Model 3.5 handheld radios for the purpose of coordinating all refueling operations and movements. They are also used to quickly notify all personnel in emergency situations (ie. Fuel Spills or Fires). All radios must have the ability to be trunked to Fairchild’s existing Motorola network. Due to the proprietary nature of Fairchild’s existing Motorola Trunking System, it is currently believed that only Motorola radios will meet the requirement. The radios must meet the minimum salient characteristics as follows: -Digital Common Air InterfaceOperation.P25 9600 BAUD TRUNKING -Intrinsically Safe -Must be IP 68 compliant -Integrated keypad -Lithium Ion battery with minimum 3400 mAh capacity TDMA OPERATION -P25 LINK LAYER AUTHENTICATION -Unit must be capable of over the air rekeying over the P25 trunking system -SMARTZONE OPERATION -Capable of being remotely reprogrammed over the P25 trunking system -Capable of being remotely rekeyed over the P25 trunking system -Must be able to transmit to and receive signals from current AES and ADP encrypted radios assigned to Fairchild -Charger capable of charging up to 6 LiIon batteries simultaneously while increasing life of battery ANTICIPATED NAICS/SIZE STANDARD: The government anticipates conducting a competitive acquisition for this effort. This requirement falls under the NAICS Code of 334220, Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing, with a size standard of 1,250 employees. SUBMISSION OF INFORMATION: All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request that will be considered for contract award. All interested parties will be required to respond to the resultant solicitation separately from their response to this sources sought notice. A responsible potential sources shall have registered with the System for Award Management (SAM).
