The 30th Contracting Squadron at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, is conducting market research for a specialized semi-truck tractor and certified driver to support rocket motor emplacement for the Trinity Mission. The tractor must haul a 135,000 lb load of live explosives, have an adjustable fifth wheel, and a kingpin-to-frame distance not exceeding 6 feet 6 inches. The driver must possess a Class A CDL with a HAZMAT endorsement and experience with oversized hazardous cargo. The anticipated contract has a 12-month period of performance from August 19, 2026, to August 18, 2027, with a mandatory one-day dry-fit check no later than two weeks before the live mission window of September 2–4, 2026.
