The 95th requires an accurate de-icing simulator to maintain technician proficiency during warmer months when deicer trucks are in maintenance and live-equipment training is costly. This simulator is expected to save 1,000 gallons of de-icing fluid annually and reduce aircraft mishap risks by ensuring full certification before operating near live assets. The customer needs an exact replica of their current Global Ground Support GL-1800 and G-2875ER deicer truck cabs. The procurement will be awarded on a sole-source basis to Global Ground Support, the only company with a commercially available simulator that exactly replicates these cabs. Performance will take place at Offutt AFB, Nebraska.
