This Justification and Approval (J&A) authorizes the use of other than full and open competition procedures for the Department of Defense (DoD). This J&A will allow for an extension to the current San Vito Solar Observatory contract, FA4600-17-C-0004. This extension is required in order to complete and finalize negotiations for the San Vito Solar Observatory follow on effort contract award. The period of performance end date for FA4600-17-C-0004 is 31 May 2022. This extension will establish 2 one-month options on the current contract. Period of performance for the 1st one-month option is 01 June 2022 to 30 June 2022. Period of performance for the 2nd one-month option is 01 July 2022 to 31 July 2022. The current contract is a definitive type contract with Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) and Cost Reimbursable (CR) CLINs. The current contract was awarded to PTSI Managed Services Inc. via full and open competition to provide support for solar optical and radio observations, analyses, and reporting. No other J&A has been approved nor denied for this contract.
