The 436th Contracting Squadron intends to issue a single, firm fixed price contract with a base plus four option year period of performance in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15. This is anticipated to be a sole source award to American Science and Engineering, Inc (AS&E), the manufacturer of the Z-Portal Vehicle Imaging System, which is proprietary due to its patented AS&E technologies. The award will be for the procurement, installation, testing, and maintenance of the Z-Portal Vehicle Imaging System. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 334517, Irradiation Apparatus Manufacturing. The proposed award is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate only with AS&E. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotation. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, other than full and open competition is authorized when there is only one responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy agency requirements. A sole source justification and approval will be posted within 14 days after award, in accordance with FAR 6.305. All responses to this notice shall be submitted electronically to 1st Lt Devin Houx at devin.houx@us.af.mil and MSgt Samuel McKenzie at samuel.mckenzie.1@us.af.mil no later than 1 July, 2021 at 11:00am Eastern Time. Late submissions will not be accepted.
