The 65th Contracting Flight at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal is issuing this combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 and Subpart 13.5, as supplemented iwth additional information included in this attached solicitation. Solicitation reference FA448620Q0002, is a Request for Quote (RFQ) using FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Item, & FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This solicitation is for MaxiMax booms, MaxiMax tow bridles with bullet floats, a Type D Boom Reel and its 9HP power pack, in addition to delivery of all items. This acquisition requires the brand name MaxiMax, with a NAICS code of 333318- Water Purification/Treatment Equipment Manufacturing. Complete specifications of each item required are attached to this solicitation as Product Description. The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price contract resulting from this solicitation, on a name brand basis, to a single source that provides a quote deemed technically acceptable. Please be advised that this RFQ in no manner obligates the Government regarding award of a contract that results from the issuance of this solicitation. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at www.sam.gov to be considered for award. Offerors shall be aware that Lajes Field is situated in a remote location. Shipping costs shall be included in the quote when submitting. Read carefully the detailed Shipping Instructions in the Deliveries or Performance section of the attached solicitation. This Sources Sought Notice serves as a market research tool and is being used for planning purposes to determine availability of sources prior to determining the method of acquisition. The intent of this Sources Sought is to identify sources for an Elastec MaxiMax Boom System to be acquired for Lajes Field Air Base, AZORES, PORTUGAL. The 65th Contracting Flight is conducting market research to determine potential sources in order to purchase the parts mentioned in the item description list which is attached to this notice. Item/Services Description: The Boom System that the Government is currently utilizing is Elastec MaxiMax. The boom features closed cell foam buoyancy panels, vertical stiffeners, galvanized chain ballast, stainless steel top tension cable. It is also fitted with handles and anchor points. The MaxiMax range of booms are ideal for rapid deployment and oil containment. It has low storage volume and can be stored on Pallets or wound on reels. The Contractor shall provide all items for the above mentioned Elastec MaxiMax Boom system including transportation, in accordance with the Government’s need per attached item description. Items shall be shipped to following address: New Cumberland, PA 17070 United States It is imperative that sources responding to this notice provide confirmation that they are able to deliver all items to the shipping address. All responses are to be submitted in English. Capability Statement: The following requests are designed to apprise the 65th Contracting Flight, Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal of any prospective contractors capable of providing all needed parts to function with the Elastec MaxiMax Boom System currently being utilized. In addition to confirmation of capability to deliver all items, evidence shall be provided demonstrating that those items will function with an Elastec MaxiMax Boom System. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is neither to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. The capabilities will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining potential sources.
