The 97th Contracting Squadron at Altus AFB, OK intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Rush Truck Centers of Texas, LP for complete replacement of a failed 8.3L L6 Cummins ISC diesel engine on a government-owned 2009 Bluebird Bus. This bus is a critical 1-of-1 asset used for flightline aircrew transport, off-base logistical missions, and military CDL training, and it is currently inoperable at the Rush Truck Centers facility. Competition is restricted because transporting the bus would incur non-recoverable heavy-duty towing and redundant diagnostic teardown costs.
