The JB Charleston FES requires Annual Inspection and Testing of two (2) Fire Department Aerial Apparatus Ladders, two (2) Fire Department ARFF Aerial Apparatus Water Towers and fifty one (51) Fire Department Ground Ladders. The contractor shall provide all the necessary labor, materials, and equipment to perform inspection and testing. The Government shall schedule the inspection and testing appointments with the contractor for annual maintenance. The Government shall provide oversight, quality assurance, and safety of contractor operations in the area where the ladders are located. National Fire Protection Association mandates that maintenance shall be provided by a certified technician. The contractor shall provide a certified technician and the technician(s) certification prior to providing inspection and testing of aerial and ground ladders. Each Inspection and Test shall be in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards: 1932: Standard on Use, Maintenance, and Service Testing of In-Service Fire Department Ground Ladders, 2020 Edition 1911, Standard for the Inspection, Maintenance, Testing, and Retirement of In-Service Automotive Fire Apparatus, 2017 Edition The contractor shall follow manufacturer’s instructions for maintenance for each Make and Model listed in the PWS.
