NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT The 1st Special Operations Contracting Squadron (1 SOCONS)/PKC intends to award a Sole Source contract to North Point Defense, Inc. 184 Brooks Road, Suite 101, Rome NY 13441 for VIRGA Fly-Away Kit. See attached Single Source Justification. 1 SOCONS/PKC will use Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition. The authority for soliciting a single source under simplified acquisition procedures is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Soliciting Competition, which states that contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization). The proposed contract action is Sole Source only. In accordance with FAR 5.102, the required justification documentation is attached. This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit product information in response to this notice by 1:00 PM C.S.T, 21 September 2022, via email to makail.betsill@us.af.mil A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely at the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by the closed date specified herein will be reviewed by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
