This is not a solicitation. The 47th Contracting Flight at Laughlin Air Force Base (AFB) located in Del Rio TX, has a requirement for beds that will be used by different on-duty firefighters each night. Due to multiple Firefighters utlizing the same bed, having the ability to adjust mattress firmness based on individual needs will ensure each unique individual/firefighther is well-rested. A waiver letter has been granted by UNICOR to purchase these mattresses outside UNICOR. This requirement consist of 19 Twin XL adjustable mattresses, 19 remotes, 19 twin xl mattress pads, 19 twin XL encasement mattress covers, delivery, installment and disposal of old mattresses. Salient characteristics will be attached. It's important to note only two brands have been identified to meet these salient characteristics, offerors are required to justify how their product meets all salient characteristics. This proposed acquisition is under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 337910 with a size standard in number of employees of 1,000. This is the only notice that will be posted through the Federal Point of Entry, SAM.gov; no solicitation will be posted on SAM.gov. Purchase will be made using FAR Part 12 (commercial items) and FAR Part 13, oral solicitation procedures.
