The 47th Contracting Flight, Laughlin Air Force Base (AFB), TX, is seeking responsible sources to establish a Firm Fixed-Price Contract in which the awarding company will at a minimum, provide all labor, equipment, materials, transportation, and all other incidentals require to install large scale hail screen on sunshade row J. The service provider (SP) shall design, manufacture, and install the hail screen onto both sides of the sun shade (NE and SW sides). Hail screens will predominantly be stowed in an upright position as to allow aircraft to taxi into and out of the sun shades. The hail screens shall be designed for personnel to easily & expeditiously deploy and to stow back into the upright position. The hail screens shall not obstruct the entry and exit points of the sun shade when stowed in the upright position. The hail screen design shall not exceed structural load specifications of the sun shade structure. A free standing hail screen structure that does not inhibit aircraft operations/maintenance may be acceptable. The hail screens shall be designed as to not damage the sun shade structure and aircraft. In accordance with FAR 36.204, the magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 - $5,000,000.
