This is a notice of the Governments intent to issue a sole source contract to Capewell Aerial Systems LLC (Cage Code 71304) for the following item: T-6 Canopy Release Body Assemblies Part Number: 81116-10 The 47th Contracting Flight at Laughlin Air Force Base (LAFB) located in Del Rio, TX, intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a Sole Source basis using FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i)” Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available” The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 336413 with a size standard of 1250. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government for future similar requirements. Only one vendor has been identified that can meet this requirement. T-6 Canopy Release Body Assemblies Part Number: 81116-10 that are produced by Capewell Aerial Systems LLC. meets all performance and specification requirements as well as safe to fly intent needed to fit T-6 Student and Instructor Pilot's harness to their parachute assembly in the T-6 aircraft. Capewell is also the only one that can produce and deliver by the 1 March 2021. 100 T-6 Canopy Release Body Assemblies are being requested to be delivered by 1 March 2021. The estimated cost for this requirement is less than $60k, therefore, FAR Part 13 procedures will be utilized. This notice ONLY serves for the purpose of meeting with requirements of FAR Part 5. No Quotes are bieng requested and this is only a notice that government intents to award as stated above. Award will be made within 10 days of this notice.
