This is a requirement for JWASP Battery Kits to support the Special Warfare students attending a specialized reperation course. The 353rd SWTS leads, trains, mentors, develops and provides initial skills training for 510 Tactical Air Control Party and Air Liaison Officer Candidates annually. In order to facilitate the training of the above-mentioned personnel, the 353 SWTS conducts three 5-day field training exercises per class, 10 classes annually, located on site at JBSA-Camp Bullis. While in the field, students are required to navigate rough Texas terrain up to 10 kilometers away from their tactical assembly area. Often times the students are unable to recharge or exchange batteries on their radios when the existing batteries fail or are depleted of power. In the event of a lost student or injury, students and instructors must be able to immediately communicate with the tactical operations center (TOC) through reliable powered radios. This requirement is for sixty (60 each) brand name or equal JWASP battery pack kits. The requirement has to be in accordance with the Attachment 1 - Specification Sheet.
