Precise Ensemble Network Communications Allowing PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing)
This project involves developing a network clock ensemble and implementing it on a VPX card running pntOS, with prototype cards and algorithms delivered to the Government for testing. The ensemble algorithm will dynamically evaluate timing references for stability and trustworthiness, using a weighting system and outlier rejection to maintain accuracy. A resilient network method will disseminate timing information over existing aircraft communication links, with authentication for new nodes to ensure integrity. The system will be built on a modified COTS 3U VPX card emphasizing open standards, and will culminate in simulated, lab, and flight tests. No budget or performance location is specified.
