THIS REQUIREMENT IS FOR AN INSPECTION OF THE BASE FIRE SYSTEMS AT THE 171ST ARW IN CORAOPOLIS (PITTSBURGH), PA. INSTRUCTIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1) THE 171ST ARW IN CORAOPOLIS (PITTSBURGH), PA CONTEMPLATES THE AWARD OF A FIRM-FIXED PRICED CONTRACT UTILIZING FY19 O&M FUNDING FOR THE INSPECTION OF ITS BASE FIRE SYSTEMS. 2) THIS RFQ WILL BE EVALUATED ON A LOWEST-PRICE TECHNICALLY ACCEPTABLE (LPTA) BASIS. 3) INTERESTED VENDORS MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE SYSTEM FOR AWARD MANAGMENT (SAM) IN ORDER TO BE AWARDED. NO EXCEPTIONS! 8) VENDORS ARE REQUESTED TO SUBMIT TWO (2) QUOTES: ONE QUOTE FOR VENDOR SUPPLY OF A 120' BOOM LIFT (REQUIRED FOR WORK IN B320), AND ONE WITHOUT VENDOR SUPPLY OF ANY LIFT. THE 171ST MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE A BOOM LIFT FOR THE VENDOR TO UTILIZE AT TIME OF CONTRACT PERFORMANCE. 9) VENDOR Q&A'S: Q1. Are we testing the dry pipe systems? If so, would it be a full trip test and drain or just test trip? Also, a count of systems if possible? A1. There are 12 sprinkler systems needing testing in section 3.2.6 & 3.3.1 of the Statement of Work. Whether wet or dry they will need a full trip test to include draining. Eleven systems are located at the 171ARW and the other at Johnstown. Wording in sections 3.2.6 & 3.3.1 in the SOW needs to be changed to: Inspection of Wet/Dry Sprinkler Systems Q2. Are we testing any pre-action or any other system beside what's listed at 320 and 321? A2. No. Q3. Are we testing any other fire pumps than B321? Seen others during walk-through. A3. No, building 304 will be tested next year. Q4. How many sprinkler systems in each building? A4. One per building. Q5. What type of systems (wet/ dry) in each building? A5. 1 dry (B320), the rest wet- Is #320 the only building with a foam system? Yes Q6. Are there any other auxiliary foam equipment like oscillating monitors, etc? A6. Yes, deluge cannons in B320. Q7. Are we to include refilling the foam tanks after the foam flow test? A7. Depends on how many gallons of foam will be used in the testing process; Contractor should only need to use 5-10 gallons, and if that is the case then no refill will be required. If the Contractor intends to use more, please provide estimated # of gallons to be used and we will be able to answer more definitively. Q8. In the SOW 3.3.3. It states the # of pull stations for Johnstown but, pull stations for all the Pittsburgh buildings are not given. We would like to know the # of pull stations for each building.
