SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR QUOTATION BUT INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY! This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The Purchase Request number is F4BWB03188A002 and shall be used to reference any written responses to this source sought. United States Air Force Academy anticipates a requirement that is being considered under a small business set-aside program. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code proposed is 334516. The size standard for NAICS is 1,000 Employees. The Electron Multiplying Charge-Coupled Device (EMCCD) Camera will be critical to carrying out ongoing research in The Physics Department (DFPM) relating to two ongoing projects: Laser cooling and trapping of Silicon (Si) Atoms toward novel quantum qubit (quantum bit - basic unit of information in a quantum computer) fabrication, and Xenon (Xe) Atom Trap Trace Analysis (ATTA system). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The necessary salient characteristics are listed below: • Quantum Efficiency >33% from 200-400nm • Electron Multiplication Gain: variable from 1-1000 • Back-illuminated Sensor cooled to -70°C or below • Vacuum Sealed sensor • Read noise of < 1 e- with EM Gain • Dark Current of 0.01 e-/pixel/sec when cooled • 512 X 512 to 1024 x 1024 pixel sensor format • 8 X 8 mm to 20 X 20mm sensor size • 25 Frames per second full frame or faster • EM gain calibration • EM gain linearity >98% • CCD well depth >80000 e-/pixel, With EM >500000 e- • Ability to use EM or Conventional CCD / Amplifier • Shutter Included • Region of Interest (ROI) / crop mode enabling increased frames per second • Ability to support vertical and horizontal Pixel Binning • USB or Gigabit Ethernet/ RJ-45 connectivity • Camera control and image acquisition software ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Market research is being conducted to determine interest, capability, and socio-economic category of potential sources for the requirement. Include in your capabilities package/email your UEI/Cage Code, and System for Award Management expiration date, and any related specifications/drawings. We are interested in any size business that can meet this requirement. Also indicate if you are the manufacturer or provide the name and size of the manufacturer of the product(s) you will be supplying. Respondents are further requested to indicate their status as a Foreign-owned/foreign-controlled firm and any contemplated us of foreign national employees on this effort. This requirement is subject to the Buy American Act, and respondents are required to state the country of origin for the product. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. The Government will use this information in determining its small business set-aside decision.
