12 JULY 2022: PROPOSAL DUE DATE EXTENDED THROUGH 19 JULY 2022, 12PM EST The Natural Gas Take Station is designed to supply natural gas from a tap off the Tennessee Natural Gas Pipeline, LLC (TGP) and reduce the pressure for use on the base. The main Regulating Station (RS-1) reduces the pressure from 700 psi to 60 psi for use by the boilers in the Central Plant (CP) and a few buildings (including the CE complex). A second Regulating Station (RS-2) takes some of the 60 psi gas from RS-1 and reduces it to 30 psi for use by buildings on the base, including the Joint Forces Building, Military Family Housing, the Lincoln Schools, and the Chapel, among others. A third Regulating Station (RS-3) takes the 700 psi gas from the TGP and reduces it to below 450 psi for use by the Combustion Turbine Generator (CTG) at the CP. A fourth Reducing Station (RS-4) takes some of the 450 psi gas from RS-3 and reduces it to 60 psi for use by the grid burners in the CTG's Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG). There are also heaters associated with RS-1 and RS-3 to keep the gas from freezing during the gas expansion process. It is imperative that the Take Station have properly trained and certified operators that can provide reliable, safe, and efficient service and operation. Currently Hanscom doesn't have any certified employees to do this work.
