Notice of Government Intent to Sole Source Repair Parts for Airfield Lighting Control and Monitoring System This synopsis is issued IAW FAR Part 5.203. The purpose of this synopsis is to announce that the 316th Contracting Squadron at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland intends to solicit and negotiate a firm fixed price, sole source contract with ADB Safegate Americas LLC IAW FAR 6.302-1 "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The Government intends to purchase the following items: Repair parts, with programming and commissioning services The Government intends to solicit and negotiate solely with ADB Safegate Americas LLC, citing FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) as authority. It is industry standard for airfield lighting systems to be maintained using parts from the original equipment manufacturer, as components from other vendors would not be compatible with the existing infrastructure and require the government to incur unnecessary duplication costs to make them useable. As such, there is only one company that can fulfill this requirement. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 238120, with a size standard of $16.5M. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. However, responsible sources that submit a capability statement, proposal, and/or quotation, received by 08/25/2021 5:00 PM Eastern Time, shall be considered.
