The 11th Contracting Squadron at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland intends to award a simplified acquisition on a sole source basis to Global Data Specialists in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a) (2) Only one responsible source is capable of responding due to the fact that Global Data Specialists (GDS) is the original installer of the proprietary equipment for the Phoenix Aircraft Arresting Control System (PAACS). A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 811219 with a size standard of $22M.
