The Contracting Department, NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC), Norfolk, VA, awarded a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract to Faneuil, Inc. on a sole source basis under FAR Part 12 “Acquisition of Commercial Items” and FAR Subpart 13 “Simplified Acquisition Procedures”. The requirement is to obtain two (2) Flex E-Z Pass transponders and six (6) toll replenishment accounts, inclusive of the four (4) current flex transponders for tolls for official government travel vehicles for the Aegis Training and Readiness Center (ATRC), CSCS Detachment (Det) Wallops, CSCS Det East and Dam Neck locations to cover all) tolls for all bridges, tunnels, and toll roads. Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has only one authorized third party source, Faneuil Inc., who provides transponders and toll services to customers and is the only source available that can satisfy the government’s need by providing the EZ Pass transponders and accounts required in order to pay for tolls for government vehicles.
