The US Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Directorate, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California is conducting market research for the ESS Ground Control Segment (GCS). In an effort to better position the ESS GCS to meet ESS requirements, ESS is conducting market research for a ground demonstration phase to streamline and evolve two elements of the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Mission Control Segment (MCS). These are considered the most complex and critical elements for delivering a successful ESS ground system capability. Early risk reduction and successful demonstration of development capabilities of the following two domains is paramount: 1.(U) AEHF MCS Mission Planning Element (MPE) 2.(U) AEHF MCS Mission Operations Element (MOPS) - only the AEHF Satellite Mission Control Subsystem (ASMCS) for in-band C2 capability
