Study entitled “Chagas disease and leishmaniasis surveillance in Antioquia”.
This contract requires a contractor to provide project management, sample collection, laboratory testing, and data analysis services for a 12-month base period with a possible 12-month extension. The work involves entomological, animal, and human subject studies focused on Leishmania and Trypanosoma infections at specific sites in Antioquia, Colombia, including San Luis, Turbo, Campamento, and Puerto Triunfo municipalities. The contractor must secure all ethical and regulatory approvals, collect specified numbers of specimens (e.g., 200 sand flies, 40-50 triatomine bugs, 100 human samples), and perform molecular testing. The contractor is responsible for providing all supplies and equipment, while NAMRU SOUTH may provide some reagents depending on funding availability. Performance will be monitored through monthly teleconferences and site visits, with deliverables including monthly reports and an annual shipment of samples to NAMRU SOUTH in Lima, Peru.
