Synopsis Project FTQW 18-2416 Project Title: AVB Fence along Richardson HWY PoP: 05 May 2020 – 30 Oct 2020 Synopsis: The work required includes all materials and to accomplish the work described below. Work included is expected to include the following items: The complete removal of the existing fence and installation of new AVB fence in compliance with UFC 4-022-03, UFGS 32-31-13, and UFGS 32-31-13.53 standards: A. The existing fence must remain in place until such time as the new fence construction is capable of providing perimeter protection as a complete replacement fence system. The contractor shall construct the new fence system on the Richardson Highway (west) side of the existing fence and install it at closely as possible to the existing fence. The existing fence can only be removed once the new fence system is in place and is complete. The new AVB fence must have a minimum fence fabric height of 7 feet (2.13m), excluding the top guard. Fence height including outriggers must be a minimum of 8 feet (2.44m). All fence posts and deadman anchors shall be set in concrete per referenced UFC and UFGS standards. B. At the Hursey Gate, the new fence shall terminate twenty (20) feet short of the existing termination. Boulders, such as those around the Communcations Building and the buildings along Central Avenue towards Bldg 2258, shall be placed in the same manner and spacing. This will allow for future road work in this area. C. At the South Gate (Commercial vehicle entrance, the new fence shall terminate at the north side of the existing anti-vehicle barrier swing gate. It shall replace the existing fence to this point and connect with the existing fence running towards the interior of the base. D. The existing gate closest to the Hursey Gate shall be replaced with one conforming to UFC 4-022-02, UFC 4-022-03, UFGS 32-31-13, and UFGS 32-31-13.53. In the event of a conflict, the most stringent specification shall apply. Any other gates along the existing fence shall be removed and replaced with new AVB fence only (do not replace existing gates) (End of Narrative)
