The Defense Logistics Agency-Aberdeen, on behalf of the Army Integrated Logistics Supply Center (ILSC), is seeking sources for the Combat Survivor/Evader Locator (CSEL) non-rechargeable battery, BA-5301A/U, NSN 6135-01-568-3234 to support the AN/PRQ-7 CSEL radio. Requirements Description: This battery is described by performance specification for CSEL AN/PRQ-7 Non-Rechargeable Battery Performance Specification, Boeing # 4866112-020, Dated 12 March 2009, With ECN's A01, A02, A03, A04, & A05. The performance specification is distribution limited as follows: "DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT D: Distribution authorized to the DoD and DoD Contractors only (Administrative or Operational Use) (April 2008). Other requests shall be referred to Electronic Systems Center (ESC), Air Force Material Command, USAF, 50 Griffiss Street, Hanscom AFB, MA 01731-1620 (Code ESC/NI)." This is a follow-on acquisition to items previously procured by the government (SPRBL1-18-D-0014 and SPRBL1-18-D-0015). Requested Response Information: Sources that can manufacture or supply the listed battery are requested to submit information to show their capabilities. As the system integrator for the AN-PRQ-7 CSEL radio, Boeing testing and approval is required for its batteries. The current known approved sources are Bren-Tronics, Commack, NY (CAGE 51828) and Mathews Associates, Sanford, FL (CAGE 4U927). Technical data is not available from the Government. Any interested sources are requested to submit the following information if it applies: a written certification of compliance from Boeing identifying the company as a qualified source of supply and the approved part number, the POC at Boeing that granted the certification, and date of last production. Information submitted should also include but is not limited to the following types of documentation: Questionnaire, and information on previous Government and commercial contracts for manufacture of similar batteries. In your response, please include your company name, CAGE code, and a technical point of contract with email address and telephone number. Notice, Response Due Date, and Points of Contact: This is NOT a Request for Quote or Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this SSA or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this SSA. This Sources sought announcement (SSA) is for planning and market research purposes only, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. The information gathered from this announcement will be used to determine if responsible sources exist, and to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or set aside for Small Business. Furthermore, the Government will use the information, in part, to determine the best acquisition strategy for a potential procurement action and/or to assist in making acquisition strategy decisions in the future.
