DARPA’s Young Faculty Award (YFA) program seeks to engage rising junior researchers in academia and equivalent non-profit research positions, especially those without prior DARPA funding. It exposes early-career researchers to Department of War needs and DARPA’s national-security mission to create and prevent technological surprise. The program provides high-impact funding to support innovative early-career research that could enable transformative DoW capabilities. Ultimately, YFA aims to develop the next generation of researchers focused on national security issues.
