The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is requesting information and suggestions on fundamental breakthroughs required to accelerate development of a new generation of efficient, resilient, and direct methods for converting energy released through nuclear radiative processes (e.g., alpha, beta, gamma, neutron) into electricity. These methods should apply to radiation from any type of reactor (e.g., fission, fusion), nuclear process, or decaying radioisotope.
