R2 2 will take assorted indigenous feedstock materials, predict the material properties, and then adaptively update any munition’s structural design (initially focused on 270mm sounding rockets) with predictive changes in system-level performance. Performers will create an inexpensive, flexible, robust, and agile manufacturing platform for the production and characterization of raw materials for use in rocket bodies and munitions fabrication. Performers will leverage material informatics and innovative processing and manufacturing techniques in an agile, rapid iteration schedule structure for efficient, on-the-fly design updates to enable rapid manufacturing.
